On this page

The feed

cURL
curl "https://nways.ng/maps/v1/fleet/traffic-feed?bbox=3.30,6.42,3.45,6.55&kind=live&mode=motorcycle" \
  -H "X-NWays-Api-Key: YOUR_SERVER_KEY"
ParameterDescription
bboxRequired. minLng,minLat,maxLng,maxLat, at most 2° across.
kindlive (the last 30 minutes, default) or typical (for a day type and 15-minute slot).
atWith kind=typical: the time of week to read; default now.
modecar (default) or motorcycle: okadas weave through traffic cars sit in.
formatgeojson (default) or ndjson: an info line, then one road per line, to stream large areas.

Each feature is a road (an OpenStreetMap way, by wayId) in one direction, with speedKmh, freeFlowKmh and a level: 0 free, 1 slow, 2 heavy, 3 standstill.

Privacy

The feed is aggregated: a road shows only when enough different devices passed (2 for live speeds, 3 for typical ones), and it never contains a trace, a device or a session. Show the attribution from the answer wherever you display the speeds.

Use

  • Use the speeds for your own operations and apps. Don’t resell the feed or publish it as a dataset.
  • Live speeds are for now: don’t store them to reuse as current speeds later. Keep typical speeds for planning as long as your agreement says.
