Fares and boats
Know the price before you get in.
Bissau's taxis and minibuses have fares set by the government. N-Ways shows them next to your route, and plans the boat when the road ends.
- Shared taxi: 300 F CFA a seat in Bissau, the official fare since June 2022. The government barred fare rises when fuel went up in April 2026.
- Toca-toca: Bissau's minibuses, 200 F CFA a ride officially.
- Between towns: the official rate is 19 F CFA a kilometre.
- Bissau–Bubaque: the state ship Centenário de Amílcar Cabral takes about four hours. It sails about once a week, more at Easter and on holidays, when it is often overcrowded.

Codes
A code for every morança, in every sector.
The name of your bairro or tabanca and a short number, unique in the whole country: Bandim 537 leads a courier, a taxi or an ambulance to your gate. Codes start provisional and are confirmed by the people who live there.
Open N-Ways at home, tap Get my code, and share it in one tap.

Borders with Senegal and Guinea
Cross in daylight, with the papers ready.
N-Ways names the border post in your steps, says whether you stop once or twice, and lists the papers to bring.
- São Domingos–Mpack on the road from Bissau to Ziguinchor: separate posts. Since 12 August 2026, buses and taxis no longer run straight through: passengers change at the border.
- Pitche–Foulamory and Buruntuma–Kandika in the east: separate posts.
- Hours: the land borders open from 08:00 to 18:00, and close on voting days, as they did for the referendum of 30 August 2026.
- Bring a passport or ECOWAS travel certificate, a yellow fever card, and for the car its papers and an ECOWAS Brown Card.
