What works in Senegal
From the Plateau to Casamance, on one map.
N-Ways speaks French when your phone does, menus and voice included, and you can switch to English in Profile. Here's what you get on Senegal's roads, rails and boats.
Search by name or Plus Code
Places, streets and businesses in all 14 regions. A Senegalese postcode covers a whole delivery area, not a door, so search by the name of the place, or type a Plus Code to find any spot.
Turn-by-turn, in French or English
Spoken directions, lane arrows and road signs, with the region you're in shown on the map, like “Dakar · Sénégal”.
The TER in Directions
Choose Train between Dakar and AIBD airport: the way to the station, the ride on TER Dakar with its stops, and the way on.
Fair fares in F CFA
Dakar's taxis have no meter. N-Ways shows what a taxi, clando, Jakarta or bus ride should cost, as a rough guide, and your fuel at Senegal's regulated pump price.
Jakarta, where it's allowed
The Dakar region bans carrying paying passengers on Jakarta motorbikes. N-Ways knows the ban area and tells you when a Jakarta trip would break it, so you drive or take a bus instead.
Police, rights and crash alerts
“Police ahead” from other drivers' reports, OFNAC's free line, 800 000 900, to report a bribe demand, and crash alerts that offer SAMU on 1515, the fire service on 18 and the police on 17.
Main cities
Each of the 14 regions is named after its capital. Search any of them, or a street or business inside.

Choose Train, Boat or Jakarta in Directions and N-Ways plans the walk to the station or the jetty, the ride, and the way on.
- TER Dakar: every 8 minutes from Dakar to Diamniadio and every 24 minutes on to AIBD airport, last trains about 22:00. Second class costs 500, 1,000 or 1,500 F CFA by zone, and 3,000 to 4,000 F CFA to the airport.
- Dakar–Gorée: the shuttle boat leaves about every hour for the 20-minute crossing. Only return fares are published: 1,500 F CFA for Senegalese adults, 2,700 for African residents and 5,200 for other visitors, plus the 500 F CFA Gorée tax.

Home codes
A home code for every compound, in town and village.
The name of your quartier or village and a short number, unique in the whole country: Ouakam 2512 leads a courier, a taxi or an ambulance to your gate. Codes start provisional and are confirmed by the people who live there.
Open N-Ways at home, tap Get my code, and share it in one tap.

Borders with Guinea-Bissau and Guinea
Crossing by road, with the papers ready.
N-Ways names the border post in your steps, says whether you stop once or twice, and lists the papers to bring.
- Mpack–São Domingos on the road from Ziguinchor to Bissau: separate posts, you stop on each side. Since 12 August 2026, buses and taxis no longer run straight through: passengers change at the border.
- Kalifourou–Sambaïlo on the road from Vélingara to Koundara: separate posts.
- Bring a passport or ECOWAS travel certificate, a yellow fever card, and for the car its papers and an ECOWAS Brown Card.
