What works in Benin
A map that speaks your language.
N-Way speaks French when your phone does, menus and voice included, and you can switch to English in Profile. Here's what you get on Benin's roads.
Search by name
Places, streets and businesses in all 12 departments. Benin has no street postcodes yet, so search by the name of the place.
Turn-by-turn, in French or English
Spoken directions, lane arrows and road signs, with the department you're in shown on the map, like “Littoral · Bénin”.
Tolls in F CFA
Ekpè, Ahozon and Grand-Popo show on your route with their price for your car, and the voice tells you how much to have ready.
Fuel in F CFA
Every trip shows its litres and their cost at Benin's regulated pump price: 725 F CFA a litre of petrol since 1 May 2026, as reported by the press.
Traffic lights called out
Lights show on the map at street level, and the turn says “At the traffic light”. Drivers can report a light that's out.
Police and your rights
“Police ahead” from other drivers' reports, and the emergency numbers and who to contact in Benin, in French.

Borders with Nigeria and Togo
Seme in, Hillacondji out.
On the coast road, you enter Benin from Lagos at Seme–Kraké and leave for Togo at Hillacondji. N-Way names each post in your steps, shows banks and bureaux de change nearby, and lists the papers to bring.
- Seme–Kraké is a joint border post: Nigeria and Benin check you in one place.
- Hillacondji–Sanvee-Condji has separate posts: you stop on each side. Clocks go back an hour into Togo.
- For the car, customs gives a laissez-passer at the border, valid 30 days and renewable up to 90.
- Election days: Benin closes its land borders. N-Way reminds you in the border details.
