Home codes

A home code for every compound, in 12 countries.

Where streets have no names or numbers, N-Ways has given every compound a code: the name of a quarter or village people already say and a short number, unique in the whole country, that leads to the gate. People get theirs in the N-Ways app with Get my code; where a council has named the street, its address comes first with the code beside it.

Look one up with GET https://map.nways.ng/v1/homecodes/{code}, or ask for the code at a point with /v1/homecodes/at. No key is needed. The geocoding call takes home codes too.

Host it yourself

The codes, the areas and the engine are open on GitHub: every issued code, the reference engine with its test vectors, and a ready-made registry server you start with docker compose up. Run lookups on your own servers, offline if you need to, with no calls to N-Ways.

Each API has its own free calls, every month. Past them you pay per 1,000 calls, less as you grow, priced in your own currency: naira, cedis, F CFA, Liberian dollars, Guinean francs, leones, escudos and dalasis. No US dollars, no exchange rates.

  • No card on file. Top up credit or pay a monthly invoice, in your own currency. In Nigeria, Ghana, Benin and Togo, payment is by arrangement: write to us. Elsewhere, the free calls work today and paying past them is by arrangement: write to us. Paying in your country
